Sheriff Aaron Whitaker (David Janssen) is called. The victim's temperamental brother, Lawrence Burrifors (Geoffrey Lewis), arrives at the crime scene. He jumps to the conclusion that the girl's lover committed the murder, a man whose name her brother does not know.
